JuniorVI. AREA EVENT FORMAT
1. Maximum of Six placing classes Maximum of 300 points
-Breeding and market Beef, Swine, Sheep and goats
2. One Sets of Oral Reasons on selected class 50 points
Participants may not use notes during the delivery of reasons. Points will be deducted for the
use of notes
3. Exam: 25 Questions 100 points per individual
– Covering breeds and body parts of beef, swine, sheep and goats.
**Note: Performance data including EPD’s and/or scenarios may be used in the breeding animal placing classes and reasons classes.**
All placing classes are eligible for reasons.
Classes in the contest are based on availability and quality of livestock.

VI. AREA EVENT FORMAT
1. Maximum of Six Placing Classes Maximum of 300 points
(Breeding cattle, sheep, swine and goat classes may have Production Data Class)
2. Maximum of Two Sets of Oral Reasons 200 points (per student)
(all classes are eligible for Oral Reasons)
a. Participants may not use notes during the delivery of reasons. Points will be deducted for
the use of notes
3. Written Livestock Management Test 100 points (per student)
(25 questions) Area Exam will cover:
Even chapters in even years, and odd chapters in odd years of the State Contest. This Year we are Odd Chapters
Example: 2024 - Chapters 2, 14, 20, 22, 26, 28;
2025 - Chapters 1, 3, 13, 15, 17, 21, 23, 27, 29
