Registration for the GVATA Summer Conference is now open. The GVATA Board has decided to conduct a virtual summer conference due to COVID-19. The conference will take place July 13–16th. We want to keep all of our members safe and understand that there will be some school systems that may prohibit travel this summer. The GVATA Board is seeking applicants for Area 2 & Area 5 Directors and PRC Representatives for Area 2 & Area 5. These terms will begin at Summer Conference 2020 & will run as a three-year term. Applications for both of these positions must be mailed to the GVATA address postmarked by March 15th. If you have additional questions about the responsibilities of these positions, please contact a GVATA Board Member. The application for President Elect is due (postmarked) by June 1st mailed to the GVATA address.

Each year the GVATA encourages members to nominate fellow teachers to participate in the GVATA/NAAE Awards Program. This is a way to recognize our peers for the great things going on in Georgia Agricultural Education Programs. You can nominate yourself or others. Nominations are anonymous. Area Directors will use the nominations to contact those who are nominated & encourage them to complete the application.

As we are preparing for summer conference we encourage you to become active within your teacher organization. GVATA is currently accepting applications for: President Elect & PRC Chairman Elect. We would also like to encourage teachers that spent at least 30 minutes this school year promoting your program to sign up for the 30 minute club award or who have encouraged their students to enter the agriculture teaching profession to sign up for the teachers of teachers award. A couple of changes with online registration: No post dated checks will be accepted at the conference.
